HCECC offers Early Childhood Education Programs for children four years through six and a half years of age.
We are unique in that we still offer half-day preschool programs for both four and five year olds. Our programs are multi-aged. Our certified kindergarten and preschool teachers individualize the children’s learning activities based on developmental age, personal interests and abilities.
Our character development program is based on the premise that children need caring adults to help them learn how to live well on a small planet! We address teasing, bullying and being unkind. We offer empathy, understanding and strategies for being successful with others.
Summer programs at HCECC offer children an opportunity for an old-fashioned summer. We have a huge fenced in yard, sprinklers, sand and water toys and a picnic table in the shade of large trees. There are bugs to watch, flowers to plant and trips to interesting places like Odiorne Point State Park and local parks. Our staff/child ratios are excellent, allowing children to play in large groups or sit quietly under a tree reading a favorite book! Since we are licensed for a “post kindergarten” age group, we can offer personal, small-group experiences to children who have just finished first grade.
