Holy Cross Early Childhood Center has served children in the Manchester area for more than 50 years – first as a nursery and kindergarten program, later a readiness program was added. Today it is a year-round Early Childhood Center. We are open from 6:30 am until 5:30 pm, and offer many program options, including half-day preschool and kindergarten.
At Holy Cross we serve the whole family. Our mission includes parenting support, as well as preschool and child care programs. Balancing work and family life is a challenge. Parents can count on us to be here when snow days cancel the public schools, during school vacation weeks and also during the summer.
Our vision includes helping children to make friends, to learn to manage emotions and to care about others. We value childhood at HCECC! We enjoy children. We are interested in how they think, what makes them laugh, how they view the world. We are interested in what they think is fun, what they like to do, how they like to spend time. We are also interested in sharing our faith-based values: that we must care for each other, for those less fortunate and also for the planet we share!
We are conveniently located right off of South Mammoth Road. We are just around the corner from Industrial Drive, Huse Road and Green Acres Elementary School
We are proud of our staff at HCECC. We have all worked together for several years. Low turnover and high levels of collegiality provide a happy place for children to grow and learn. Every staff member has degrees in either elementary or early-childhood education. Our directors have graduate work in Early Childhood Administration. The Executive Director also completed coursework for a Ph.D. in Sociology of the Family.This is helpful when families struggle with bedtime, sibling rivalry and other tricky parts of parenthood. Together, our staff has 93 years experience working with young children and their families!
